A fresh and simple tomato salad featuring ripe tomatoes, red onion, basil, and olive oil, perfect for light lunches or as a side dish for warm weather meals.

Ingredients

  • shredded lettuce
  • sliced ripe tomatoes
  • chopped red onion
  • snipped fresh basil or dried basil
  • olive oil
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place a small amount of shredded lettuce on a plate.
  2. Top with 3 slices of ripe tomato.
  3. Add chopped red onion and chopped or dried basil.
  4. Pour 1 teaspoon of olive oil on each tomato.
  5. Sprinkle with black pepper.
  6. Let stand at least 1/2 hour before serving.
