Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup diagonally sliced celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed chervil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can condensed cream of shrimp soup
  • 1 1/2 can milk
  • 1/4 cup sherry
  • 1 (6 oz.) package frozen crab, thawed and drained
  • 1/3 cup sliced water chestnuts

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, cook the sliced celery with crushed chervil in butter until tender.
  2. Stir in the condensed cream of chicken soup, cream of shrimp soup, milk, sherry, and drained crab meat.
  3. Heat until everything is well blended, stirring occasionally.
  4. Do not allow the soup to boil.
  5. Optionally, substitute mushrooms for shrimp or canned crab meat for variety.
  6. Serve hot as a delicious starter or main course.
