Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons jalapenos
  • 3 tortilla shells
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 8 ounces Cheddar cheese
  • 2 pie crusts
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 cup green pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  1. Cook sausage, chopped onion, and green pepper until done.
  2. Add black beans, salsa, jalapenos, chili powder, and cayenne; simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Place 1/2 cup of the mixture into the bottom of a pie crust, sprinkle with cheese, and top with a tortilla.
  4. Repeat layering twice more, resulting in three layers in total.
  5. Top with the second pie crust; cut slits in the top crust.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 40 to 50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
