Ingredients

  • 1 c. Karo syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 c. black walnuts

Instructions

  1. Butter a cookie sheet and spread the black walnuts evenly over the pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine Karo syrup, margarine, vanilla, white sugar, and vinegar.
  3. Bring the mixture to the hard ball stage, stirring constantly.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then pour over the walnuts on the prepared cookie sheet.
  5. Let the taffy cool completely before breaking into pieces.
