Ingredients

  • 2 c. fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tsp. water
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. quick-cooking oats
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. cold butter or margarine
  • vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Place blackberries in a greased 1-quart baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice until smooth, then pour over berries.
  3. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the berries.
  5. Bake uncovered at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until filling is bubbly.
  6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
