Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons red cinnamon candies
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 1/2 cups thinly sliced peeled baking apples
  • pastry for double crust pie

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, red cinnamon candies, ground cinnamon, sugar, and flour; mix well.
  2. Add the sliced peeled apples to the mixture and stir gently to combine.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into a pastry-lined pie plate.
  4. Roll out the remaining pastry crust to fit the top of the pie.
  5. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  6. Place the top crust over the apples.
  7. Seal and flute the edges of the pie.
  8. Bake at 400°F for 50 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the apples are tender.
