Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 4 Tbsp. heavy cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 baked 8-inch pie shell
  • whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Buy 1/2 pint of whipping cream and set aside some for topping.
  2. Use 4 tablespoons of heavy cream for the chocolate filling.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips with the 4 tablespoons of heavy cream to make the filling.
  4. Separate the eggs, adding the egg yolks one at a time into the chocolate mixture, mixing well.
  5. Pour the chocolate mixture into the baked 8-inch pie shell.
  6. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, adding some sugar if desired for sweetness.
  7. Spread or pipe the beaten egg whites over the chocolate filling.
  8. Chill the pie until set, then garnish with whipped cream before serving.
