Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 16 ounces chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth, then add the brown sugar and mix well.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased or parchment-lined baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
