Braised Beef Steak Maroon
Ingredients
- Braising liquid
- 1 onion ⓘ
- 4 ounces tomato paste (or puree) ⓘ
- 1 3/4 cups beef broth ⓘ
- 1/4 cup port wine or 1/4 cup red wine ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon parsley ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 10 drops Tabasco sauce (optional) ⓘ
- Steaks ⓘ
- 3 tablespoons olive oil ⓘ
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients for the braising liquid into a food processor and process until smooth. Leave until ready to use.
- Heat oil in large skillet.
- In a shallow dish, mix the flour with the salt and pepper. Dredge the steaks in the seasoned flour and fry 2-3 minutes each side.
- Carefully pour the liquid over the steaks, cover and turn down heat. Simmer for 90 minutes.
- Remove steaks to serving dish and pour sauce over.
- Serve and enjoy!
