Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 lb. pork, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. minced ginger root or 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 3/4 c. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. sherry
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 lb. fresh broccoli or 2 packages frozen, thawed and chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a deep skillet; brown the pork all over.
  2. Stir in the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sherry, sugar, and water.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  5. Heat remaining oil in a saucepan and cook the broccoli over high heat for 4 minutes.
  6. Drain the broccoli.
  7. Arrange the broccoli on a serving dish and top with the pork.
