Ingredients

  • 3/8 lb. venison
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • flour
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 apple

Instructions

  1. Rub the venison with salt, pepper, and flour.
  2. Brown the venison in hot oil, turning frequently.
  3. Add hot water, cover tightly, and cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender, adding more water as needed.
  4. Add chopped celery, diced carrot, chopped tart apple, and lemon juice.
  5. Cook for approximately 30 more minutes until flavors meld and vegetables are tender.
