Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups stale bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup water, boiling
  • 3/4 cup celery, finely cut
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 apples

Instructions

  1. Pour boiling water over bread crumbs and let stand for 20 minutes.
  2. Squeeze out excess water from the soaked bread crumbs.
  3. Add chopped onion, finely cut celery, eggs, melted butter, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and chopped apples to the bread crumbs.
  4. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  5. Make just before serving, cooked with turkey or roasted chicken.
