Brijolli features tender rolled steak filled with seasoned bread crumbs and cheese, simmered in rich Ragu sauce for a hearty, flavorful Italian-inspired dish perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 3 to 4 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 cup grated Romano cheese
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of basil
  • dash of salt
  • dash of oregano

Instructions

  1. Mix bread crumbs, Romano cheese, seasonings, and egg in a bowl.
  2. Add enough salad oil to the mixture to make it hold together when squeezed.
  3. Cut the round steak into 4 x 4-inch pieces.
  4. Fill each meat square with the stuffing mixture.
  5. Roll up the stuffed meat and tie with string to secure.
  6. Brown the meat rolls in a frying pan with a small amount of salad oil.
  7. Place the browned meat rolls in Ragu sauce and cook covered for at least 2 hours.
