Ingredients

  • 2 lb. peeled new potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • dash red pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1 or 2 pkg. frozen broccoli

Instructions

  1. Boil the peeled new potatoes until tender.
  2. Make the cheese sauce by melting butter in a saucepan.
  3. Add flour to the melted butter and stir until blended.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly over medium heat.
  5. Add red pepper and salt to the sauce.
  6. Add the cheese slices and stir until melted.
  7. Drain water from the cooked potatoes.
  8. Add the slightly thawed frozen broccoli to the potatoes.
  9. Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes and broccoli and mix well.
  10. Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes until bubbly and browned on top.
