Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 ounces sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 8 ounces fresh broccoli, cut into 1/2 inch florets
  • 2 ounces purple onion, diced
  • 4 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 ounces bacon bits
  • 2 ounces raisins
  • shelled sunflower seeds
  • chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Combine mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar to make the dressing.
  2. Wash and drain the broccoli, remove stalks, and cut into 1/2 inch florets.
  3. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, diced onion, bacon bits, shredded cheese, and raisins.
  4. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and gently mix to coat.
  5. Chill the salad well before serving.
  6. Just before serving, top with sunflower seeds or chopped pecans.
