Ingredients

  • 3 (10 oz.) packages chopped broccoli, cooked and drained
  • 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons instant chicken broth granules
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup hot water
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 cups Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix

Instructions

  1. Arrange cooked broccoli in a buttered 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Melt 1 stick of butter in a small saucepan.
  3. Add flour and instant chicken broth granules to the melted butter.
  4. Cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Gradually add milk, stirring until the sauce is smooth and thick.
  6. Pour the sauce over the broccoli in the casserole dish.
  7. Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in hot water.
  8. Add the stuffing mix to the butter-water mixture and toss thoroughly.
  9. Stir in walnuts.
  10. Spoon the stuffing mixture over the broccoli.
  11. Bake uncovered in a 400°F oven for about 30 minutes.
