- Remove fat and covering membrane from flank steak.
- Tenderize the steak with a fork.
- Mix minced onions, soy sauce, olive oil, thyme, Tabasco sauce, and lemon juice to make the marinade.
- Lay the flank steak in a broiling pan and spread half of the marinade over one side.
- Turn the steak over and spread the remaining marinade on the other side.
- Cover with wax paper and marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
- Broil the steak until it reaches your desired doneness, best when served rare to medium.
- Cut across the grain in very thin slices before serving.
