Ingredients

  • 1 flank steak (1 1/2 to 2 lb.)
  • 3 Tbsp. minced onions
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 2 drops Tabasco sauce
  • juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Remove fat and covering membrane from flank steak.
  2. Tenderize the steak with a fork.
  3. Mix minced onions, soy sauce, olive oil, thyme, Tabasco sauce, and lemon juice to make the marinade.
  4. Lay the flank steak in a broiling pan and spread half of the marinade over one side.
  5. Turn the steak over and spread the remaining marinade on the other side.
  6. Cover with wax paper and marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  7. Broil the steak until it reaches your desired doneness, best when served rare to medium.
  8. Cut across the grain in very thin slices before serving.
