Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup oat bran cereal
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F and prepare an 8-inch square pan with vegetable pan coating.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt margarine and unsweetened chocolate over medium heat; then cool.
  3. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. Add oat bran cereal, all-purpose flour, and 1/4 cup chopped walnuts; mix just until well blended.
  5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle remaining chopped walnuts on top.
  7. Bake for about 18 minutes or until the brownie is firm to the touch.
  8. Cool and cut into squares.
