- Combine the frozen country style potatoes and 1/2 cup melted butter in a large bowl.
- Stir in sour cream, cream of chicken soup, chopped onion, shredded Cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Place the mixture in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Combine cornflake crumbs and 1/2 cup melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cornflake mixture over the casserole.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
- Uncover and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown.
