Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 or 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 8 oz. wide noodles
  • cornflake crumbs

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef lightly in a skillet.
  2. Drain off the fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and cook until tender but not browned.
  4. Add tomato soup, cream cheese, sugar, salt, and Worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture.
  5. Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Cook the wide noodles in a separate pot until al dente.
  7. Drain the noodles and add them to the sauce, mixing well.
  8. Pour the combined mixture into a 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch casserole dish.
  9. Sprinkle with cornflake crumbs and dot with butter on top.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
