- Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl; set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mash the bananas and mix with sugar, eggs, and melted margarine.
- Add the banana mixture to the flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in butterscotch chips and 2/3 cup of nuts.
- Spoon the batter into a well-greased and floured loaf pan.
- Sprinkle the remaining nuts on top.
- Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 35 to 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
