Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted margarine
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 6 ounces butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl; set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mash the bananas and mix with sugar, eggs, and melted margarine.
  3. Add the banana mixture to the flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in butterscotch chips and 2/3 cup of nuts.
  5. Spoon the batter into a well-greased and floured loaf pan.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining nuts on top.
  7. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 35 to 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
