Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups large walnut pieces

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar and flour in a saucepan.
  2. Combine eggs and vanilla in a separate bowl.
  3. Add butter and salt to the saucepan and stir until blended.
  4. Stir in corn syrup and walnut pieces into the saucepan.
  5. Warm over low heat until butter is melted and mixture is combined.
  6. Pour the filling into the pie shell and sprinkle with additional walnut pieces if desired.
  7. Bake on the lower rack of a preheated oven at 375°F for 40 to 45 minutes until the filling is set in the center.
  8. Allow the pie to cool before cutting and serving.
