Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract; beat until creamy.
  4. Add egg; beat well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture; mix well.
  6. Stir in 1 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels and nuts.
  7. Spread the mixture into a foil-lined 9-inch square baking pan.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes or until set.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
