Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup corn oil
  • 3/4 cup cream sherry wine or white wine
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • nutmeg to taste
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Mix the cake mix, vanilla pudding, eggs, corn oil, wine, vanilla, and nutmeg for 4 minutes at medium speed.
  2. Fold in chopped pecans after mixing.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
  4. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 50 minutes.
  5. Cool the cake for 5 minutes before removing from the pan.
  6. Prepare a glaze by mixing 1 stick butter, 1 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup of wine used in the cake; boil for 3 minutes.
  7. Pour the hot glaze over the cake and let it stand in the pan for at least 30 minutes to cool.
