Tips & Substitutions

For a spicier relish, consider adding more hot peppers or using a different variety. You can substitute the red apples with tart green apples for a different flavor profile. If you prefer a sweeter relish, increase the sugar slightly. Make sure to use high-quality vinegar for the best taste. This relish can also be used as a topping for sandwiches, similar to how you might use Zesty Ketchup Spread.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the apple relish alongside grilled meats or as a condiment for sandwiches. It pairs beautifully with Jack'S Vegetable Soup or can be used in place of chutney on cheese boards. You can also spoon it over roasted vegetables for added flavor. This relish makes a great gift when jarred attractively.

Storage & Reheating

Store the canned apple relish in a cool, dark place to maintain its flavor. Once opened, keep it refrigerated and consume within two weeks. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, being careful not to overheat, as this can alter the texture. Ensure the jars are properly sealed for long-term storage.
