Ingredients
- 2 cups thinly sliced onions ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons butter ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons flour ⓘ
- 2 cups water ⓘ
- 2 cups diced potatoes ⓘ
- 1 cup sliced celery ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound cod or haddock, skinned, boned and cut into pieces ⓘ
- 1 (7 1/2 oz) can crabmeat, drained and flaked ⓘ
- 2 cups milk ⓘ
- 10 oz shredded sharp Cheddar cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook fish and set aside.
- Cook onions in butter until tender. Blend in flour.
- Stir in water, potatoes, celery, and seasonings. Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Add remaining ingredients. Stir until cheese is melted.
