Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 15 c. popped popcorn

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, margarine, light corn syrup, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Cook and stir over medium heat until it bubbles around the edges.
  3. Continue cooking and stirring for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda until foamy.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the popped popcorn and stir to coat evenly.
  6. Transfer the coated popcorn to a 250°F oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
