Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Kraft caramels
  • dash of salt
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 envelope gelatin
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
  • pie crust

Instructions

  1. Melt the caramels in milk in a double boiler, stirring constantly.
  2. Add salt to the gelatin and soften in cold water.
  3. Add the softened gelatin to the caramel mixture and stir to dissolve.
  4. Chill the mixture until it becomes quite thick.
  5. Fold in whipped cream and chopped pecans.
  6. Pour the mixture into a prepared pie crust of your choice.
  7. Refrigerate until the filling is firm.
