Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) boxes Ritz bits
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Combine Ritz bits, peanuts, butter, sugar, and corn syrup in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking powder.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on a cookie sheet or shallow pan.
  4. Bake at 250°F (121°C) for 1 hour, turning every 15 minutes.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture onto waxed paper and let cool.
  6. Break apart into pieces and store in an airtight container.
