Instructions

  1. Unwrap the caramels and place them in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk.
  2. Melt the caramels over low heat, stirring until smooth, then set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine milk, cake mix, melted butter, and chopped pecans; stir until well blended.
  4. Spread half of this mixture evenly in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips on top.
