Ingredients

  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1 bag caramels
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Mix the cake mix, 1 stick of melted margarine, oil, water, eggs, and 1/2 can of Eagle Brand milk in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and pour half of the batter into the pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  4. During baking, melt the caramels and the remaining half can of Eagle Brand milk in a top of a double boiler or microwave until completely melted.
  5. Add chopped pecans to the caramel mixture.
  6. When the cake is baked, pour the caramel mixture over the top.
  7. Cover with the remaining cake batter and bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes.
