Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 c. rice
  • 2 cans tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pepper
  • 2 to 2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder

Instructions

  1. Slice and fry the onion until translucent.
  2. Add the crumbled hamburger meat and brown well.
  3. Stir in the rice and cook briefly until it starts to brown.
  4. Add the canned tomatoes and season with salt, pepper, and chili powder.
  5. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Serve piping hot.
