Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp minced onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp fine dry bread crumbs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • small green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, minced onion, slightly beaten egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce together.
  2. Form the mixture into individual patties.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the patties and green pepper strips to the pan.
  5. Cook and brown the patties slowly until they are fully cooked and nicely browned.
  6. Serve the casseroles with rice or mashed potatoes, optionally with gravy.
