Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 c. Cheerios
  • 1 c. salted peanuts
  • 1 c. raisins

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 250° and grease 2 cookie sheets.
  2. Mix cereal and peanuts in a large bowl.
  3. Heat brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt in a pan until bubbly around the edges.
  4. Stir the mixture for 2 minutes longer.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
  6. Pour the mixture over the cereal and peanuts, then spread in the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Loosen the mixture with a spatula.
  10. Let it stand until firm, then break into bite-sized pieces.
