Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked squash
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk until warm.
  2. Add butter to the warm milk and pour over the bread crumbs. Mix well.
  3. Add the bread crumb mixture to the cooked squash.
  4. Stir in the grated cheese and seasonings.
  5. Beat the eggs until light.
  6. Add the beaten eggs to the squash and cheese mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  7. Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle buttered bread crumbs on top.
  9. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 to 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
