Ingredients

  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • dash of red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Slice raw potatoes and onion; cook until done.
  2. Drain the cooked potatoes and onions.
  3. Mix milk, salt, red pepper, margarine, and flour in a saucepan.
  4. Cook the mixture until thickened.
  5. Pour the cheese sauce over the cooked potatoes and onions.
  6. Top with buttered bread crumbs.
  7. Bake at 400°F until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
