Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • dash of pepper
  • 3 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt the margarine and cook the chopped onion until tender.
  2. Stir in the cream of chicken soup, milk, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Add the cooked macaroni, 3/4 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese, and drained chicken to the sauce.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, then top with the remaining cheese and bake until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
