Cheesy Olive Triangles are savory baked snacks featuring melted cheese, tangy olives, and a hint of spice, perfect for appetizers or party treats.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. medium sharp or Colby cheese
  • 1 small onion
  • cayenne pepper
  • paprika
  • 1 can pitted ripe olives
  • mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • whole wheat or rye bread, square sliced

Instructions

  1. Grate the cheese and chop the olives.
  2. Mince the onion and mix it with the grated cheese and chopped olives.
  3. Add mayonnaise to the mixture until it holds together and is slightly moist.
  4. Season with a pinch of cayenne pepper to taste.
  5. Cut the bread into triangles.
  6. Spread the cheese and olive mixture onto each bread triangle, mounding slightly in the middle.
  7. Sprinkle paprika over the topped triangles.
  8. Bake on a cookie sheet in a 350°F (175°C) oven until the cheese bubbles.
  9. Serve hot.
