Ingredients

  • 1 loaf white or rye bread
  • 12 slices processed cheese
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 cup margarine
  • mustard

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion until done.
  2. Add margarine and mustard to the sautéed onion.
  3. Place slices of processed cheese and Swiss cheese between bread slices to form sandwiches.
  4. Spread some of the prepared sauce over the assembled bread.
  5. Spread the remaining sauce over the top of the bread.
  6. Sprinkle poppy seed over the top of the bread.
  7. Bake at 275°F (135°C) for about 45 minutes or until done.
