Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherries
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Line a well buttered pan with 2 cups of cherries.
  2. Cream together 3/4 cup white sugar and 3 tablespoons butter, then add 1 cup sifted flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt, alternating with 1/2 cup milk.
  3. Pour the batter over the cherries in the prepared pan and bake until golden and set.
