Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sticks oleo
  • 1 onion
  • 2 to 3 stalks celery
  • parsley
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 4 cups bread cubes (dry)
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Melt oleo in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion, chopped celery, parsley, salt, and pepper; sauté until vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in dry bread cubes to the skillet mixture.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  5. Shape the beef mixture into balls about 3 inches in diameter.
  6. Flatten each ball into a thin patty.
  7. Fill each patty with the prepared stuffing mixture and reshape into large balls, leaving the top open.
  8. Bake the stuffed balls at 350°F for 1 hour until cooked through and browned.
