Ingredients

  • 1 pkg boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 to 2 tbsp butter or better butter
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 or 3 carrots
  • 1 onion

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients except dumplings in a Dutch oven; cover with water and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and cook until chicken is done and vegetables are tender.
  3. While chicken is cooking, prepare the dumpling batter.
  4. Drop dumpling batter by tablespoon onto bubbling stew.
  5. Cover tightly and cook for 12-15 minutes without lifting the lid.
