Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (1 3/4 oz.) pkg. chili seasoning mix
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (7 oz.) pkg. cornbread mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chili seasoning mix, drained corn, drained kidney beans, tomato sauce, and water to the skillet.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Pour the chili mixture into a 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  5. Prepare the cornbread mix by combining it with the egg and milk.
  6. Pour the cornbread batter over the chili mixture in the casserole dish.
  7. Bake in a 400°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cornbread is browned.
