Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 large clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 large can red kidney beans (with liquid)
  • 4 to 6 hot peppers, liquefied in blender
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. hot chili powder
  • 4 Tbsp. beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 6 oz. water

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion and crushed garlic in vegetable oil until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned and meat changes color.
  3. Liquefy hot peppers in a blender and add to the pot.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, red kidney beans with liquid, cayenne pepper, hot chili powder, beef bouillon granules, cumin, sage, and black pepper.
  5. Add water and simmer the chili for approximately 1 hour to develop flavors.
  6. Serve hot, optionally over prepared Uncle Ben's wild rice mix.
