Ingredients

  • 8 oz. milk chocolate bar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 2/3 cups boiling water
  • 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine milk chocolate, butter, and boiling water in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the chocolate mixture to the dry ingredients, beating for several minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
  6. Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla; continue beating on medium speed for 1 minute.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before frosting.
  10. Top with your favorite chocolate frosting.
