Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Combine eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla in a medium bowl with a wire whisk.
  2. Stir in chopped pecans.
  3. Sprinkle chocolate chunks over the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.
  4. Pour the pecan mixture into the pie shell over the chocolate chunks.
  5. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until a knife inserted 2 inches from the center comes out with little bits of filling attached.
  6. Cool the pie on a wire rack for 2 hours before serving.
