Ingredients

  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the unsweetened chocolate and mix it with oil and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually blend into the chocolate mixture to form a dough.
  4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls.
  6. Roll each ball in confectioners sugar until coated.
  7. Place the coated dough balls on a greased cookie sheet, spacing 2 to 3 inches apart.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until cracks form on the surface.
  9. Allow cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheet.
  10. Remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
