- Combine pudding mix, brown sugar, chocolate, and 1/4 cup milk in a saucepan.
- Add egg yolks and blend well.
- Add remaining 3/4 cup milk.

- Remove from heat and stir in butter.
- Cool at least 5 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times.
- Pour the chocolate pudding filling into the baked pie shell.
