Ingredients

  • 1 baked (8-inch) pie shell
  • 1 (4 oz.) package chocolate pudding and pie filling mix
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 square unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup chopped salted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Combine pudding mix, brown sugar, chocolate, and 1/4 cup milk in a saucepan.
  2. Add egg yolks and blend well.
  3. Add remaining 3/4 cup milk.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter.
  6. Cool at least 5 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times.
  7. Pour the chocolate pudding filling into the baked pie shell.
  8. Top with chopped salted peanuts before serving.
