Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups Quaker oats ⓘ
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar ⓘ
- 1/2 cup brown sugar ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon baking powder ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup raspberry preserves ⓘ
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces ⓘ
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces or white chocolate, chopped and melted ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine flour, oats, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in chilled margarine or butter until mixture is crumbly.
- Reserve 1 cup of the oat mixture for the streusel topping; set aside.
- Press the remaining oat mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9-inch square baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Spread raspberry preserves over the crust.
- Sprinkle evenly with semi-sweet chocolate pieces.
- Combine the reserved oat mixture with chopped almonds and sprinkle over the chocolate layer, patting gently.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Optional: Drizzle with melted chocolate and let it set before cutting into bars.
- Cut into 36 squares and store tightly covered.
