Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder or baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or other shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 (10 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix flour with baking powder and salt.
  2. Beat butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually beat in sugar and brown sugar.
  4. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
  5. Stir in flour mixture until well blended.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
  7. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
